Pre K-3 news Lots to read, but necessary dates.

posted Feb 4, 2015, 11:00 AM by Lorraine Lonegan
This is a repeat of the note I sent home today. I would like to add one date to that note. On Thursday, February 12, we have re-scheduled our Patriotic songs assembly missed during Catholic Schools Week due to snow. The assembly will be at 2P.M. and we will still be leading the school in singing Yankee Doodle with the Pre K 4. Morning students may return with a parent.February 12 is also our Jump for Heart Health assembly at 11 A.M. The children may dress down in red white and blue. Be sure to have that red in there for the heart health!.
Before I refresh on the sent home letter, I would like to tell you what we did today. Your children are very busy learners! We started out learning the sound and look of letter Pp and doing our introduction sheet. We read our Letter P book. Next, we had music class, did our circle time calendar, weather and 100day, and read a book about shadows. (Reinforcing Groundhog Day) We had our gym class and listened to a silly groundhog story before going home. I am so proud of how much these children accomplish on a daily basis. They are a really good group!
Now to our important announcements. (also contained in the note in the backpack)
There will be a 12:30 dismissal for first Friday THIS week 2/6. Please adjust your pick up times accordingly. Thank-You.
The date of the St. Jude's Dress down/bake sale that I blogged about yesterday has been changed. Since the weather for this coming Monday February 9 looks like it may have some snow accumulation, the date has been changed to Thursday, 2/19.
On Tuesday 2/10 Archbishop Hebda will be visiting our school and celebrating Mass in our Church. No N.U.T. passes may be used that day. All children MUST be in full uniform.
Officer Phil Safety Program visited our school yesterday. Their website is informative and fun. To see the characters we met, go to officerphil.com.
Our Valentine's Day celebration is scheduled for Wednesday, 2/11. Your child may bring Valentines for their classmates. There are 17 children in the class.

The 100 day celebration is coming soon. I can't tell you exactly when it will be due to our snowy weather activity, but I will tell you as soon as I can. We are within 10 days.
Thank you to everyone for your supply donations. We have received many glue sticks and today a nice amount from Adyson's family! Thank you for helping your child with my teacher appreciation cards! They are priceless.
