February wrap-up.

posted Feb 27, 2015, 10:58 AM by Lorraine Lonegan
We finished off February with a fun morning of a healthy teeth project, show and tell, and computer class. Do you realize how much curriculum matter we covered in February along with our regular language and math activities? In February we find Valentine's Day, Lincoln's birthday, Washington's birthday (Discuss "Presidents" but focus on these two),healthy heart month, Chinese New Year, 100 day, and healthy teeth month. One of our healthy teeth projects is coming home in the backpack today along with the Washington and Lincoln projects. We are keeping today's healthy teeth project for awhile to decorate the classroom. Wow! I am tired just from reading this!
On Monday, March brings it's own holidays. Monday is Mrs. Kling's Birthday!!! It is also Dr. Seuss birthday, even though Mrs. Kling is much more important! We will be gathering with the Pre K-4, Transitions, and Kindergarten to hear the story of Green Eggs and Ham and we are going to surprise the children by making some and eating it together. We will also watch the "Cat in the Hat" video together.
Thank you to our parents who sent in tissues already! If you can pick up a box to donate to us, we would appreciate it. One of our eighth grade students, Shannon Zang is collecting food to donate to the St. Leo's food pantry as her confirmation project. Please send in a non-perishable food item if you can. Our food pantry does important work in our community. We would love to help out Shannon and our needy neighbors.
Have a wonderful weekend.
